Now if you thought that identifying LRDG cap badges was difficult, you have seen nothing yet. Cloth shoulder tabs are even worse, as many were made at different workshops in Egypt.
Plus there are many reproductions out on the market; so if looking for an original example “buyer beware”.

Now there has been controversy on these items. Some say they were never made or issued to the LRDG Troopers. I must admit that I have never seen any in photos of any trooper. However there a number of them in circulation, I even have one that came from the Thomas Walsh Estate. So I do think they are a legitimate collector item. What is a little strange I have seen two different sizes.
