"Early" style - Less than 100 made before the die was destroyed. Most if not all of the were sold to the New Zealander's in the LRP.

I have included two reproduction in this group; to note how to distinguish it from an original.

Now another way to indicate the reproductions from the originals; is the absence of "scribed" lines within the scroll.

Early Cap Badges

1 - Original - came up for sale on NZ "Trade Me" back in 2012 - Sold for $5009.NZ Dollars.

2 - Original - came from the Thomas Welsh Estate - in my collection.

3 - Copy - reproduced - quite well made - in Silver, photo discolored. Sold for $500. NZ Dollars.

4 - Copy - same as above - but note there is no Silver Proof on rim.

5 - Original - came up for auction on NZ "Trade Me" in 2019 - Sold for $7050. NZ Dollars.

6 - Original - same as the above - note Silver Proof mark on upper rim.

7 - Original - came up for sale on NZ "Trade Me" this year 2022 - Asking $15,000. NZ.

8 - Original - same as above showing proof mark. No sure but I think it sold for the asking price.

9 - Original - from the Buster Gibb Estate - remains with the family.

10 - Original - from the Don McInnis Estate - last owned buy Ric Brennan.

11 - Copy - reproduction (mine) - I purchased 2 when they were available.

12 - This early one belonged to Private Eric Harcourt, slightly bent at the top
